Student Handbook Program Overview Brochure When you arrive in Washington to participate in one of Presidential Classroom’s programs, the city becomes the setting for an exciting, insider’s view of the federal government in action. Whether you attend one of our flagship PC Scholars Programs or a special-focus week, you examine the pros and cons of public policy issues in Caucus Meetings, Seminars, Crossfires, Capitol Hill visits and a variety of written materials. You meet other informed, committed high school students from across the nation and from other countries. You have the opportunity to hear and question influential people involved in the public policy arena and visit the museums, monuments and historic sites in the nation’s capital. Presidential Classroom’s curriculum focuses on a carefully planned series of activities for each day. A tentative schedule of events for your week in Washington is outlined in the color brochure that arrived in your packet. Activities are designed to increase your knowledge of the federal government and the critical role of individuals in the formation of public policy. A key feature of the week is time for both formal and informal discussion of the issues. The following information gives you more details about what to expect.
