Transportation

Making Reservations
You are responsible for your own travel arrangements to and from Washington. You should make your reservations at least four weeks in advance. Ideally, you should arrive around 3 p.m. on Sunday. We provide transportation to the hotel from Reagan Washington National, Baltimore/Washington International and Dulles International Airports, and Union Station. (See the Shuttle Schedule, or see page 11 of the Student Handbook.)

If you need assistance with your travel arrangements, contact the following agencies. For the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska, check the internet for the best fares. Their hours are 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. EST. In Puerto Rico, contact Barron Travel (1-787-791-4888). Be sure to mention this is for travel to Presidential Classroom.

Student Scheduling Form
You need to return your Student Scheduling Form, included in the Welcome Packet, for us to meet you upon arrival. When you make your travel plans, complete the form and return it to us. We cannot be responsible for transporting you to the hotel if we have not received your travel information before your class begins.

Arriving in Washington, D.C.
Our shuttle service covers Reagan Washington National; Dulles International; and Baltimore/Washington International airports as well as Union Station. Upon arriving in Washington, D.C., collect your bags and find the PC representative (see the map links below or see pages 11 - 12 of the Student Handbook). The PC representatives will be wearing red Presidential Classroom shirts with white letters and holding a PC sign. They will also be wearing a PC nametag. They will direct you to our shuttles for hotel transfers. If a PC representative is not at the pick-up location, please wait - the representative may be assisting other students.

Airports: See the airport maps (or see pages 11 - 12 of the Handbook). If in doubt, find the Travelers Aid Desk; they can direct you to our representatives.

Union Station: See Station map (or page 11 of the Handbook). A PC representative will meet you by the plants, near the America Restaurant.

DO NOT leave the terminal on your own. If you cannot find a PC representative, call Presidential Classroom's Student Services Office at 202-464-5580 (be sure to dial the area code).

Hotel Transfer
After meeting the PC representative, you and other students will take the shuttle to the hotel. You are responsible for your belongings while traveling and attending the program. Presidential Classroom cannot be held responsible for any delay, loss or damage of luggage or its contents.

When you arrive at the hotel, look for the Presidential Classroom signs directing you to the registration area. Registration runs from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Here, you will receive your room assignment and all necessary materials for your week. A lounge is also available prior to Sunday evening activities. If you want to eat before the first meal (Sunday dinner), you may visit the hotel restaurant or snack shop.

Arriving by Car
Hotel Parking: The only parking at the hotel is in a pay lot (about $12/day). Presidential Classroom cannot be responsible for arranging or paying for parking facilities for students. Overnight parking is not permitted.
